Minimalist Meets Francisco Costa's Inspiration for Calvin Klein
Francisco Costa's vision for the Calvin Klein spring/summer collection 2011 held at New York Fashion week, was a display of sophisticated fashion inspired to create a look of "less is more." The creation of a white-walled set, set the tone and hit all the right notes for the night. The carefully designed "structured system" of focused and refined pieces showcased architectural clothing for women who mean business.
Confident models with neutral make-up and pulled back hair walked the ramp in a series of deep V-neckline dresses, cashmere vests and sheer T-shirts paired with structured cropped pants, sixty's inspired shift dresses in an array of corals, midnight blues and indigos broke up the predominately black, white and earth tones. Different fabrics inspired layered dresses, boxed collared jackets, tunics with a mix of loose and fitted variety of pants. The accessories were minimal and contemporary. Sleek sandals with wood platforms complimented the clothing with style.
The detailing of the clothing was minimalistic with the use of bold pleats, kangaroo pockets and flared fabrics all adding to the effect of sensual, elegant modern woman.
